The Making of Our Paper

Manna grass – Glyceria aquatica
Banana tree – Musa acuminata

Our process is completely eco-friendly and chemical-free:
1. The plant fibres are cleaned, cut, and boiled to soften them naturally.
2. They are blended with water to form a smooth pulp.
3. This pulp is then spread on wooden frames, dipped in clear water tanks to form sheets of paper.
4. The sheets are sun-dried under Sri Lanka’s tropical sunlight — no artificial drying or energy waste.
5. Finally, they are calendered and finished by hand, giving each sheet its unique texture and warmth.
From this paper, we craft notebooks, gift bags, greeting cards, boxes, and wall art — each one carrying the touch of the artisan and the spirit of sustainability.

The concept is built on a simple yet powerful idea: sustainability should uplift people as much as it protects the planet.
We proudly work with over 15 rural women and village families across the Rajanganaya region, many of whom are housewives who previously had limited access to income opportunities.

Through training and fair wages, these women now craft beautiful handmade paper and eco-friendly products from their own villages. Each notebook or card sold helps them support their families, educate their children, and live with pride and purpose.
Our dream is to expand this model across every district in Sri Lanka, training more rural families, creating livelihoods, and making Sri Lanka a global hub for sustainable handmade paper.

🕒 Storage & Care

To maintain the quality and durability of coconut coir pots, they should be stored in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Prolonged exposure to damp conditions can cause early decomposition or mould growth. It’s best to keep them off the ground on pallets or shelves to avoid contact with humidity or pests. If storing for long periods, ensure they are kept in sealed packaging or covered with breathable materials like burlap.
